海之暗面 主視覺海報設計 Ocean: The Dark Side Key Visual Poster Design

The 2021 “Pier-2 Artist-in-Residence Program” took “RePAIR” as its central theme—not only emphasizing repair and regeneration through art, but also evoking the prefix “re-” as an act of re-examining and re-thinking. The program reflected on contemporary challenges such as protests, natural disasters, the disruption and suspension of transportation and cultural events caused by the pandemic, as well as the turbulence of international trade and politics.
The ocean, while serving as a nurturing and connective body, also conceals darkness and the unknown. This year’s theme, “The Dark Side of the Sea,” invited artists through residency, dialogue, and practice to re-examine the multiple possibilities between the ocean, the port, the city, and art. Through exploration and creation, we seek to engage with deeper issues while, in the process, arriving at a renewed understanding of ourselves.
The key visual embodies the idea of “diving into the depths of the sea,” symbolizing the exploration of the unknown. The image is transformed into the beam of a submarine’s searchlight or the faint glow of a deep-sea creature—an allegory for discovering subtle fissures of possibility, nearly invisible yet undeniably present.

2021年「駁二藝術特區藝術家進駐計畫」（Pier-2 Artist-in-Residence Program）以 “RePAIR” 為核心思考──不僅強調藝術修補與再生，也呼應 “re-” 作為「重新觀看與思考」的意涵。計畫聚焦於當代社會的挑戰：抗爭、天災、疫情造成的交通阻隔與展演停滯，以及國際經貿與政治的混亂。

海洋既是孕育與連結的母體，也潛藏著黑暗與未知。本屆主題 「海之暗面」，邀請藝術家透過駐地交流與創作，重新審視海洋與港口在城市與藝術間的多重可能。藉由探索與實踐，期待與藝術家一同觸碰更深層議題，也在過程中重新認識自己。

主視覺以「潛入海底深處」為意象，象徵探勘未知的過程。畫面轉化為潛艇探照燈或深海生物發出的微光，隱喻在幽暗中發現裂縫般的契機，尋找幾近不可見卻真實存在的一絲可能性。
